The Membership & Social Committee of the Academy creates networking opportunities to bring together the various branches of the legal profession, thereby enhancing the social capital of the legal community. Throughout the year, it organises a diverse range of social events to cater to a wide spectrum of interests. Activities organised range from blockbuster movie nights to culinary adventures like wine tasting and chocolate making, to car rallies, and year-end charity projects such as ‘A Storybook Christmas’ held in support of the kidsREAD programme under The Singapore Children's Society-Children Service Centre in November 2008.

The Membership & Social Committee also work with merchants to offer SAL members exclusive discounts and privileges.

The Membership Sub-Committee exists to deal with matters relating to the enrolment of members, discipline and subscriptions payable by members, and applications for waivers of annual subscriptions.
