We consider for publication articles and notes on subjects relevant to Singapore law, the laws of Asia-Pacific and common-law legal systems, and comparative and international law. Articles should generally be about 10,000 words in length. Shorter notes, including comments on recent cases and legislation (5,000 words), and book reviews (2,000 words) are also welcome. Selected articles that have been published in the Journal may be viewed on the Academy’s website.

All articles, notes and reviews (hereinafter “Submissions”) must be original. As a condition for publication, the author(s) warrant(s) that the Submission: (a) is not simultaneously being considered by any other publication, and that it shall not be sent to another publication until a response is received from the editors of this journal; and (b) does not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third parties.

Singapore Academy of Law Journal Copyright Licence Agreement

In consideration of the Singapore Academy of Law (“the Academy”) agreeing to publish the work(s) submitted by you, the author, in the Singapore Academy of Law Journal, you hereby grant the Academy the non-exclusive right by way of an irrevocable, sub‑licensable, transferable royalty-free licence to:

  1. publish the work(s) in printed formats;

  2. publish the work(s) on the Internet or other online transmissions or by means of any other electronic medium whether now known or subsequently developed, including but not limited to CD-ROMs;

  3. translate the work(s) into all languages and publish the translation(s) using the means referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b); and

  4. reproduce the work(s) for conferences, courses, lectures, seminars, symposia and other educational events organised solely or jointly by the Academy;

throughout the world for the full period of the copyright in the work(s), provided that the Academy shall always acknowledge you as the author of the work(s).
