LawNet is Singapore’s leading legal research website that has been the backbone of the legal community for the past decade. A subscription service, LawNet provides a complete suite of research and legal transactional solutions. Subscribers can conduct research on primary (case-law such as the Singapore Law Reports, unreported judgments and legislation) and secondary (legal news, reference material, textbooks and journals) content. In addition to Singapore case-law, LawNet provides access to the material of other common law jurisdictions such as English case law (the Weekly Law Reports and the Law Reports) and Malaysian case law (Malayan Law Journal). The LawNet Management Committee sets the global objectives and policy guidelines for the use of LawNet and legal information technologies within the Singapore legal sector. Of note, the new LawNet portal was launched in July 2007 to acclaim. In addition to an enhanced interface and the ability for a user to customise the look and feel, the implementation of research tools such as search trail, bookmarks and email alerts make LawNet the first choice for legal research. Ongoing projects include: Website Enhancements: In an effort to maintain a world class research website for the Singapore legal community, periodic feedback sessions with users and internal auditors and reviewers form the basis for frequently rolled-out enhancements to the functionality of the LawNet service.
