1. The Singapore Academy of Law (the “SAL”) provides the SAL Website Notice Board facility (the “Notice Board”) to allow members of the SAL (collectively “Members” and each a “Member”) to notify other Members of their movements (e.g., appointments and resignations), and to allow employers, advertisers and recruiters (“Employers and Others”) to notify Members and users of recruitment and/or internship opportunities of a legal nature (“Employment Opportunities”). The Notice Board must not be used for any other purpose.

2. The SAL is not acting as agent to any of the Employers and Others offering Employment Opportunities and the SAL does not recommend or endorse in any way any person posting any information on the Notice Board.

3. Members and Employers and Others agree that they are solely responsible for the content and accuracy of the posting. During their use of the Notice Board they will not intentionally make representations that are misleading, false and/or offensive.

4. The SAL reserves the right to refuse publication of any information for any reason without referral back to the Members and/or Employers and Others (as the case may be) submitting it. The SAL reserves the right to withdraw or alter the Notice Board or remove or edit the contents of information posted to the Notice Board in whole or part at any time without notice and without giving any reason.

5. SAL may review, remove and/or alter the contents of the Notice Board pursuant to Clause 4 above but shall be under no obligation to do so and accepts no responsibility or liability for either doing so or failing to do so.

6. The SAL does not represent or make any warranty or endorse in any way the accuracy, reliability or legality of any posting, or any links therein, or that a Member posting any information is entitled to make such posting.

7. Users and third parties place reliance upon all postings on the Notice Board and the links therein at their sole risk.

8. The SAL cannot guarantee that any advertisement placed on the Notice Board will attract applications from users, or that any advertisement placed on the Notice Board will lead to the placement of a successful candidate in an advertised position.

9. SAL excludes liability in contract, tort (including but not limited to negligence and defamation), statute or otherwise for any loss, demands, actions, claims or damages whatsoever and howsoever arising including without prejudice to the foregoing direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential loss or damage and regardless of whether such loss or damage was foreseeable.

10. Members and Employers and Others making postings will at all times indemnify and will continue to indemnify and hold harmless the SAL from and against all liabilities, costs, damages, expenses, claims, suits, allegations and demands that the SAL may suffer or incur in connection with such postings.

11. Without prejudice to Clause 10 above, in the event of any claim against the SAL, the SAL reserves the right at its discretion to enter into any settlement without notice or consultation (which shall include without limitation removal of any advertisements and payment of costs and damages which the SAL considers to be fair or reasonable) and/or to proceed as best advised, all without affecting the obligations of Members and Employers and Others mentioned in these terms and conditions.

12. The SAL gives no guarantee as to the availability and performance of the Notice Board. Accordingly, the Notice Board is provided by the SAL on an “as and when available” basis. In particular, while the SAL takes reasonable steps to ensure that information provided on the Notice Board is maintained securely, it accepts no responsibility for breaches of security or unauthorised access, and owes no liability to users for any loss or damage whatsoever that may result from loss or corruption of data, downtime or hardware damage, whether arising from technical faults or viruses or otherwise.

13. The SAL reserves the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Notice Board or users’ access to or use of the Notice Board. The SAL owes no liability to users for any loss or damage whatsoever in respect of any action it takes with respect to the management or maintenance of the Notice Board, or any other action taken in relation to the Notice Board.

14. For the avoidance of doubt, the terms and conditions herein apply in addition to the general terms and conditions relating to the use of the SAL Website in general.
