Registration

Registration for the event may be made:

(a) online by logging on to www.sal.org.sg;
(b) by fax to: (65) 6332 4256;
(a) by email to: ltc@sal.org.sg

To avoid delays in registration, please ensure that all registration details are clearly provided. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability of seats. Priority will be accorded to registrations received with payment.

Payment

Registration fees must be paid in full on or before the closing date to ensure admission. Registrations received on or before the closing date are confirmed unless otherwise notified. In any case, e-mail confirmation will be sent upon confirmation of registration.

Cheque payments should be made payable to ‘SINGAPORE ACADEMY OF LAW’ (our GST registration number is M4-0005863-6). Please write the title of the event on the back of the cheque.

SDF Approved Courses

For Skills Development Fund (SDF) Approved Courses, please apply for SDF assistance at http://www.sdf.gov.sg. If the claim is for any reason rejected by Workforce Development Agency (WDA), SAL may recover the cost from the participant's company.

Cancellations

LawNet Training Centre MUST BE informed of any cancellation by participant(s) 5 working days before the training date.  Failure to do so will result in the forfeiting of payment.  If a participant has not paid, he/she will be required to pay LawNet Training Centre.
 
Transferring of registrations

Please be reminded that course fees are NOT refundable.  However, we do accept substitute attendee(s) at NO extra charge.

Registrations are transferable within the same organization. Request for substitute attendee(s) has to be made 2 days in advance.
 
Participants will ONLY receive a course certificate if they attend the entire training.
 
Substitute attendees for the 2nd or 3rd day of training (when training exceeds 1 day) are NOT ALLOWED.

Online Registration & Purchase Co-ordinators (ORPCs)
 
1. An ORPC account may be opened through the completion and return of the Form for Application for ORPC Account with SAL.

2. An ORPC must be approved and appointed by his/her firm/organization. SAL shall not be held responsible for any unauthorized registrations via the SAL website and SAL shall be entitled to full payment for such registrations.

3. In case of a change in ORPC, the firm/organization may transfer the existing UserID to the new authorized ORPC and at the same time the password may be reset by the firm.

4. An ORPC has to ensure that the name(s) of participant(s) selected from the SAL website is/are correct before submitting an online registration. SAL reserves the right to reject any request for change in participant(s) and the registration shall remain payable in full.

5. If an OPRC opts for payment by cheque, cheque for the full amount due must be received by SAL within 14 days from the date of the online registration.

6. If an ORPC account is in arrears for more than 90 days, SAL reserves the right to disable the account.

All other applicable terms and conditions stipulated herein on this SAL webpage shall apply to online registrations by ORPCs.

Legal Education & Studies (LES)/ Legal Development Fund (LDF)
 

Registration

Registration for the event may be made:

(b) online through a firm’s/organisation’s Online Registration & Purchase Co-ordinator (ORPC)
(c) by fax to: (65) 6334 4940;

Members' rates

Members’ rates for registrations shall not apply to the following:
 
(a) members who are on membership fee waiver; and
(b) members who owe the Singapore Academy of Law S$500 or more for a period of 90 days or longer.

The conditions for Members’ rates do not apply to online registrations by ORPCs. All participants successfully registered online by approved ORPCs will be entitled to Members’ rates.

Payment

Cheque payments should be made payable to ‘SINGAPORE ACADEMY OF LAW’ (our GST registration number is M4-0005863-6). On the back of the cheque, please write
(a) The title of the event; and
(b) The name(s) of the registrant(s)

For GIRO payment, the amount due will be deducted on the 25th of each month from the designated bank account. If it falls on a Sunday or Public Holiday, the deduction will be made on the next working day.

Transfer of Registrations

Registrations are transferable within the same organisation and same fee category. Please provide the name of the substitute at least one day in advance. If a non-member is nominated to attend in place of a member, the fee difference must be paid before the commencement of the event for the transfer to be valid.

This requirement does not apply to transfers of online registrations effected by an ORPC.

Cancellation

A sum of S$20.00 with the prevailing GST rate will be levied for administrative charges for any cancellation received in writing on or before the closing date. However, the registration fees will remain payable in full:
 
(a) if notice of cancellation is received after the closing date; or
(b) if a participant fails to attend the event for any reason whatsoever; or
(c) if a participant arrives late or fails to attend any part of the event.

Online Registration & Purchase Co-ordinators (ORPCs)

Membership Events (MBD)
 
Registration

1  Registration for Membership Events may be made:
 
(a) Online by logging on to www.sal.org.sg; or

(b) At the Singapore Academy of Law Membership counter, Level 5M. Membership card number, log-in password and participant details (Full name, NRIC number) will be required upon registration.

2  Registration for SAL Movie Nights shall be made through the modes specified in paragraph 1.

3  Tickets for SAL Movie Nights must be collected from the Singapore Academy of Law Customer Service Counter, Level 6, regardless of the mode of registration.

4  To avoid delay in registration, please ensure that all registration details of members and/or participants are clearly provided.

5  Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and subject to availability of seats.

Payment

6  Members’ rate for registration shall not apply to the following:
 
(a) Members who are on membership fee waiver; and/or

(b) Members who owe the Singapore Academy of Law S$500 or more for a period of 90 days or longer.

8  For all modes of registration, payment may be made by credit card online.  Where registration is made under paragraph 1(b), payment may also be made in the following manner upon registration:

(a) By cash at the Singapore Academy of Law Membership counter, Level 5M; or

(b) By cheque. Cheque payments should be made payable to ‘SINGAPORE ACADEMY OF LAW’ (our GST registration number is M4-0005863-6). Please write the title of the event on the back of the cheque.

9  An E-mail confirmation will be sent to a valid email address upon confirmation of registration.

10  If a registrant cancels the registration for any Membership Event by notice in writing on or before the closing date for registration, Singapore Academy of Law will, subject to paragraphs 11(a) to (c) below, refund the registration fee after deducting an administrative charge of S$10. 

11  There will be no refund whatsoever for the following cases:
 
(a) If the notice of cancellation is received after the closing date; 

(b) If a participant fails to attend the event or any part thereof for whatever reason; and/or

(c) For cancellation of registration for SAL Movie Nights or any Membership Event for which refund is expressly stated to be unavailable.
