The Integrated Electronic Litigation System
"iELS" has been conceptualised to replace
the existing Electronic Filing System “EFS”
which was started in the early 1990s to
provide an electronic framework for law
firms to file documents to the Courts
electronically over the Internet.
iELS will establish an integrated
standard system with new capabilities and
enhanced functions such a template-based
filing, integrated due-diligence, case and
data validation with agencies, case
management and tracking, and resource
management.
This new system will provide a transparent,
seamless and secure operating environment
for law firms, litigants and the Judiciary
to interact with each other. It will address
the needs such as case tracking and
management, practice management and billing
systems. iELS will also
facilitate interoperability with evidence
management and presentation technologies to
enable hearings to be conducted in open
court or in chambers. |
