These services include mediation, adjudication, neutral evaluation and domain name dispute resolution etc. Through our panel of professional neutrals, numbering more than 700, with legal and industry expertise, SMC is well-placed to manage difficult negotiations and unlock standstills for businesses by providing cost-effective and timely solutions. About 1000 disputes are currently lodged annually, making SMC one of the largest, if not the largest, non-court dispute resolution centre in the region. Many of these disputes are complex, commercial, multi-party disputes, involving millions of dollars. SMC is also the leading training provider of dispute resolution skills in the region.  SMC’s training footprint covers every ASEAN country and includes countries outside the region such as Austria, Bahrain, China, Malta, Fiji, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirate.

Job Description:

We are looking for a transformational leader who will lead SMC to support the growth of Singapore as the mediation hub of Asia. 

Key Roles:

  • Lead and charter SMC’s transformational growth to support the growth of Singapore as the mediation hub of Asia;

  • Formulate and implement the strategic initiatives of SMC as well as provide effective and efficient oversight of SMC operations; and

  • Ensure that SMC upholds good corporate governance and continues to be financially sustainable.

  • A dynamic, visionary and innovative leader with proven leadership and strategic planning skills;

  • Have the passion and capability to build new businesses. Must be able to initiate and develop new services and strategic initiatives. Candidate(s) with prior experience in e-commerce will have an advantage;

  • Strong ability to influence and collaborate with key stakeholders. Must be able to establish and build a good network of valuable contacts; and

  • A degree with 10 years of management experience. Candidate with some understanding in mediation / dispute resolution is preferred.
