The Selection Committee for the Appointment of Senior Counsel invites applications for appointment as Senior Counsel.
Applicants should possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience as advocates and solicitors or as legal officers and have active practices involving substantial advocacy and other litigation-related work. Pursuant to section 30 of the Legal Profession Act, appointees are chosen by a Selection Committee comprising the Chief Justice, the Attorney-General and the Judges of Appeal. The names of all successful candidates will be announced by the Chief Justice at the Opening of the Legal Year.

UPDATED INSTRUCTIONS FOR SENIOR COUNSEL APPLICATION SUBMISSION (as of 14 August 2024)
1. To submit your application, please email [email protected] to schedule an appointment with SAL secretariat, providing at least 1 working day’s notice.
2. Appointments can be made between 9:00am to 6:00pm, from Mondays to Fridays, during the submission period.
Submission Period: 1 August 2024 to 30 September 2024
- Mondays to Fridays: 9:00am - 6:00pm
- Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays: Closed
3. Submissions should be made in person at the SAL office (1 Coleman Street, #08-08 The Adelphi, Singapore 179803) at the appointment time.
4. Please do not approach our counter staff, as they are not able to accept submissions.
5. Please note that only payment via bank transfer is acceptable. Please refer to paragraph 17 of the guidance note for more information.
6. After payment has been made, please email a screenshot of the payment with the completed application form in PDF to [email protected]. Please refer to paragraph 18 of the guidance note for more information.
