Tricia Ho

 

Ms Tricia Ho
Lecturer (School of Law), Singapore University of Social Sciences

Tricia is a lecturer for Family Law at the Singapore University of Social Sciences.

Prior to joining the university, Tricia was practicing at a leading Singapore law firm and specialised in family law litigation. She has experience handling cases with complex elements such as relocation, foreign pre-nuptial agreements, child abduction and forum non conveniens. Currently, Tricia teaches a year-long family law course at the university with  focus on both practical and academic perspectives.

Aaron Yoong

 

 

Mr Aaron Yoong
Associate, Setia Law LLC 

Aaron is an associate at Setia Law LLC, and a Lecturer of Law (FDS) at the Singapore Management University.

Prior to joining private practice and academia, Aaron served as a Justices’ Law Clerk with the Supreme Court of Singapore. His research has been published in leading journals such as the Tort Law Review and Arbitration International, and has also been cited by the Singapore High Court.

Tan Ee Kuan

 

Mr Tan Ee Kuan
Assistant Registrar, Supreme Court of Singapore

Ee Kuan graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in Law in 2012, and obtained an LLM from Harvard Law School in 2013. 

In 2015, Ee Kuan joined the Singapore Legal Service as a Deputy Public Prosecutor / State Counsel in the then Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC). In 2017, he was posted to the Supreme Court as a Justices’ Law Clerk. In 2019, he returned to the AGC and became part of the Advocacy Group, where he handled a range of criminal, civil and international law disputes. In 2022, he joined the Supreme Court as an Assistant Registrar.

Sarah Siaw

 

 

Ms Sarah Siaw
Deputy Public Prosecutor / State Counsel, Crime Division, Attorney-General’s Chambers

Sarah graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA in Jurisprudence in 2015. She joined the Singapore Legal Service in 2016 as a Deputy Public Prosecutor / State Counsel in the then Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC). From 2017 to 2018, she was posted to the Supreme Court as a Justices’ Law Clerk. In 2019, she was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, and returned to AGC as part of the Crime Division. As a member of the sexual offences specialist group, Sarah handles a range of criminal litigation and advisory work. 

She is currently pursuing an LLM degree in Harvard Law School.

Yiwei Lu

 

 

Ms Yiwei Lu
Assistant Legal Counsel, Permanent Court of Arbitration, Netherlands

Yiwei graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in Law in 2016, and obtained an LLM degree from Columbia Law School in 2022.

In 2017, Yiwei joined the Singapore Legal Service as a Deputy Public Prosecutor / State Counsel in the then Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC). From 2018 to 2019, she was posted to the Supreme Court as a Justices’ Law Clerk. In 2020, she was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, and returned to AGC as part of the Crime Division, where she handled a range of criminal litigation work.

Yiwei is currently pursuing a year-long stint at the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in the area of inter-state and investor-state arbitration. Yiwei’s views in no way represent the views of the PCA.

Toh Kian Sing SC

 

Mr Toh Kian Sing SC
Senior Partner & Head of the Shipping & International Trade, 
Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP

Toh Kian Sing SC is a Senior Partner and Head of the Shipping & International Trade Practice Group of Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP. 

He acts as counsel in shipping and commodity arbitrations and accepts appointments to act as arbitrator in these areas. He is on the panel of arbitrators of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration, China Maritime Arbitration Commission, Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration and has accepted appointments to act in ICC arbitrations. He is a Fellow of the UK Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators. 

His scope of expertise includes bills of lading, charterparty, marine insurance and reinsurance, shipbuilding, ship sale and purchase litigation as well as arbitration, oil trading, oil rigs and commodity disputes as well as letters of credit litigation. 

He is consistently featured in the Chambers Asia-Pacific and The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.

Vivian Ang

 

 

Ms Vivian Ang
Partner, Allen & Gledhill LLP


Vivian is a Partner at Allen & Gledhill LLP specialising in maritime and shipping law, international trade and finance and marine insurance. 

Vivian has been in active practice since she was called to the bar in 1981 and handles a full spectrum of maritime, shipping and trade related matters.

She has acted as co-arbitrator and counsel in numerous cases and has handled many notable cases in Singapore including complex multi-jurisdictional and cross border disputes including trade financing disputes in excess of US$300million, oil pollution claims in excess of US$120million, collision claims in excess of US$150million, bill of lading disputes in excess of US$90million and many other disputes involving charterparties, international trade, oil and gas, insolvency and sale, purchase, construction and repairs of ships and oil rigs.

In 2019, she was among the inaugural batch of select practitioners to be recognised as a Senior Accredited Specialist in Maritime and Shipping Law by the Singapore Academy of Law.

She has been consistently ranked as a leading shipping and admiralty practitioner in a numerous publications including Chambers Global, Chambers Asia-Pacific Asialaw Leading Lawyers, The Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Who’s Who Legal Singapore.

She has also won numerous awards, including Best Lawyer in Shipping at the Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Asia Women in Business Law Awards in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015, Winner of the Shipping and Transport category for Singapore in the Client Choice Awards in 2015, and recognised by Benchmark Litigation as a Litigation Star in Shipping, Dispute Resolution and International Arbitration in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

In 2020, she was inducted into The Legal 500 Hall of Fame, which recognises individuals who are at the pinnacle of the profession and have received constant praise from their clients for continued excellence. She was also named Lawyer of the Year for Shipping at the Who’s Who Legal Awards in 2020.

Mohammad Haireez

 

 

Mr Mohammad Haireez
Director, LVM Law Chambers LLC

Haireez is the co-head of the Firm’s International Trade, Shipping, and Sanctions practice. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2010 as the best student from the National University of Singapore in shipping law related subjects.

Haireez’s practice consists of all forms of dispute resolution with an emphasis on international trade and shipping-related disputes. Testament to his abilities, he has since been accredited as a specialist in Maritime and Shipping Law in the Specialist Accreditation Scheme in Maritime and Shipping Law launched by Singapore Academy Law and appointed as a single joint expert in Singapore shipping law in relation to a claim before the High Court of England and Wales.

Most recently, Haireez has advised on legal issues arising from sanctions, in particular, those arising out of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Outside of legal practice, Haireez has been the Deputy Subject Co-ordinator for Admiralty Practice with the Singapore Institute of Legal Education since 2019 and has taught advocacy in the National University of Singapore. He presently sits on the board of a leading bursary institution as its Honorary Secretary and is committed to making a difference in the society, both through the practice of law and beyond.
