Overview

Arbitration is taking centerfield as the preferred dispute resolution mechanisms in commercial disputes and disputes of a disciplinary nature in the fast growing global sports industry.   Our speakers in this webinar, Nick De Marco QC, Peter Koh and Lau Kok Keng will share their experience and discuss some of the prevailing issues in international sports arbitration, the legal framework and the arbitration mechanisms surrounding the resolution of sporting disputes, the challenges that governing bodies face in ensuring equality and uniformity in sports regulations, the importance of ethical issues/boundaries in sports and upholding the regulatory framework,  transparency in the selection process, the need for establishing domestic sports arbitration tribunals and what international practices if any that Singapore can draw from.
