Today marks the start of SAL’s Business Mission to Delhi, which will see members from various law firms fostering greater connections with their legal counterparts in India. The four-day event includes a conference on legal tech, meetings with business leaders, and a networking night powered by TechLaw.Fest.

Highlights of the programme include meetings with representatives and leaders from emerging sectors of the Indian economy, including renewable energy, healthcare and electrical vehicles, as well as legal tech start-ups and various venture capital firms. These provide an opportunity for business development and partnerships.

Among the members embarking on this journey is Ms Gloria James, co-founder and head lawyer at Gloria James – Civetta & Co, who has been using technology to improve her firm’s processes.

For instance, AI-powered software aids in capturing meeting minutes during client consultations and facilitates the creation of PowerPoint presentations. The technology even helps in creating wills, by prompting clients to input key details such as personal information, asset distribution preferences, and final wishes. With this, software can quickly generates a comprehensive will, which the firm then reviews and improves.

AI is also helping Gloria in a personal project to develop a portal that provides easy to understand guides on family law matters.

Expressing anticipation for her trip to New Delhi, Gloria expressed, “Given India's reputation for technological advancement, I am eager to explore how AI can revolutionise legal practices from their perspective.” Top of Form
